Tip: Before proceeding with changing / resetting your password it is important that you inform yourself on what impact changing or resetting your password will have on the different ASA Technology Services by reading 'What does changing/resetting my password mean?'. It is also worthwhile to familiarise yourself with 'How do I create a strong password?'.
Your username is derived from your first name and last name separated by a full stop '.' followed by an at sign '@' and your schools email domain name.
For example: john.smith@auburn.adventist.edu.au or jane.smith@bac.qld.edu.au
Your current password:
- Must be at least 24 hours old.
Your new password must:
- Be at least 12 characters long
- Not be a previously used password
- Not contain the following:
- your name
- user's account name
- parts of the user's full name that exceed two consecutive characters
Additionally, your new password must have any three of the following 4 character sets:
- Have at least one lowercase character
- Have at least one uppercase character
- Have at least one number (0 through 9)
- Have at least one special character. The following are considered special characters: ~ ! @ # $ % ^ & * _ - + = ` | \ ( ) { } [ ] : ; " ' < > , . ? /
If any one of these requirements is not met, you will receive an error message indicating so, and your password will not be modified.
If you know your current password, and it is older than 24 hours, and would like to have it changed or to set a new one due to password expiration, you have two options:
Note: Password change via PC or MAC is only available for some schools. Refer to the Windows / MAC column in 'What services is my ASATS user account used for?' for your school to determine if this method is available to you.
If your password isn’t working, make sure that the Caps Lock is turned off, and that your user name is spelled correctly, and then try again.
If your password still isn’t working, it’s time to reset your password.
- Reset your password by submitting a Help Desk request. You can do this by following the instructions in the 'How to submit a request?' article remembering to provide details on your password reset request in the request description.
